Great thanks to all who came out to participate/help/support the Spartan 5K this morning! It was a chilly, windy morning but at least the sun was shining!
We had a very nice event today, collecting about $1400 in donations. It was a low-key event and great to see so many families out to support the Cross Country and Track and Field programs.

ReplyDeleteOff-season running starts this week. I’ll be at Tuesday workouts (Terra Loco) and most weekend workouts. Chad will lead the other workouts with the varsity team members who show up. Anyone is welcome! Schedule for this week:
Monday: off
Tuesday: Meet at Terra Loco at 6 p.m. This is NOT an official Terra Loco run this week, so we’ll run on our own with no entry fee. 5k tempo run.
Wednesday: Meet near boys’ locker room right after school (around 3:05). 6 miles with Varsity at around 7:30/minute pace. (Others run at least 4 miles at own pace.)
Thursday: Meet near boys’ locker room right after school (around 3:05). 40-minute out-and-back negative split run. Go out conservatively for 21 minutes and return in under 19 minutes.
Friday: 11 a.m. Soldier’s Field (off school that day, Chad will lead). 5 miles with 6x100 m strides to practice surging and recovering.
Saturday: We’ll lightly jog the course at NXN (for those not going to NXN, take a break or cross-train).
Sunday: NXN (for those not going to NXN, run a quick 5k).
