Volunteer Opportunities

Hello Mayo Running!

Have had some volunteer opportunities come through my email...wanted to share them with you!

1.  Paws and Claws Fundraiser:  Hello all! We need help moving items for our rummage sale on Friday February 27th Saturday, Feb 28 in the a.m. Will be starting at 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon moving items that are in our upstairs storage area down to a staging area in the back hall at our shelter. We need people with strong legs and strong arms to go up and down the stairs. There are items both heavy and lighter that need to be carried. Saturday morning we will be meeting at 8 am at the shelter to load a semi truck to take the items over to the Olmsted County Fairgrounds where we will hold our rummage sale

If you are able to help on either these days and are also willing to transport some items in your vehicle Saturday am over to the fairgrounds, we would greatly appreciate it. This is a huge effort. Every year we earn lots of money and recycle many, many items that would end up in the landfills into dollars that help our cats and dogs. We cannot thank enough the many many people who have helped us over the years in this effort, and I thank you in advance for helping us this year. All of the items have been boxed and should be easy to handle.

You do not need to be an official volunteer to help with this, so feel free to bring a friend or one of your teenagers who has a lot of energy and wants to help with good cause. If you're coming Friday, meet us at  3:00 in the back hall and Saturday meet us at am in the back of the shelter. Please park your vehicles up front and both times.

Thanks!

2.  Med City Marathon:

It's time to volunteer for the
Med City Marathon Weekend!

Thank you for volunteering at past Med City events.  We couldn't put this premier event on without volunteers.  No one volunteer position is more important than another.  Our runners depend on you to give them their race packets, cheer them on and guide them on their way. We are grateful for the time you've given in the past and we look forward to your help this year.
This year we are using an online sign up process.  You can see every volunteer spot, the time frame for that spot as  well and the location.  You simply choose the spot  you want fill in the form and your done!  We'll send you a reminder about a week prior to the event.  Here is the link to sign up:
You'll be asked for an email, once that is provided you will be directed to the sign up page.  If you would like to volunteer and do not want to use the online portal, please send me an email at medcitymom@live.com and I will be glad to help you out.
All of our volunteers will receive a t-shirt and are invited to stay for the post race party on Sunday.
Thank you again for volunteering!
